Course Content
Our long-distance sailing training is a mile-building passage that includes watch rotations and hands-on seamanship. Covering approximately 800 nautical miles, the journey takes you from Punat (Croatia) to Valletta (Malta), with the possibility of a stop, weather permitting.
Before departure, an online meeting will be held to plan the trip, discuss the itinerary, and allow the crew to get acquainted.
Training topics include:
Safety equipment and long-distance safety briefings Practical seamanship: logbook management, crew assignments, weather routing, navigation, safety procedures, and marine radio communication
The training will feature at least four nonstop night sails, depending on weather conditions, possibly with additional harbor approaches. Participants will also get a taste of advanced FB4-level content, such as celestial navigation using a sextant to determine the ship’s position.
